That last quote really stuck out to me because that is completely true. Everyone is raised having someone else's ideas and beliefs drilled into their minds from a young age so they think they are their own. I've definitely experienced this in my life, only realizing within the last couple years that I previously had opinions about certain things because I had constantly been around that way of thinking for so long, not because thats the way I truly felt about it.
I'm with Rachel in seeing the truth in the third quote--it wasn't until I went to college that I felt like I was really forming my own identity and opinions rather than living out the expectations (not all of them unfavorable) of the people around me.
I agree with your second quote you can never be overdressed or over educated, it's like he is telling us to not limit ourselves.
